Whether it would be an essay to write, a poem to recite or any subject of discussion. If “your aim in life “was a topic the first and only option that would strike my mind was to become a doctor and serve people. I still remember little Kusum being so excited and writing essay way longer than required. She didn’t have any other option on her mind and neither did her Baba. Baba’s dream was to see his kusa in white coat with a stethoscope.

Eventually time passed. I was upgrading to higher levels and finally the time came. I cracked the exam so I thought Bangladesh would be a better option because of the same syllabus, same books, similar curriculum, and similar study pattern as Nepal.

Baba’s response on me choosing Bangladesh was not what I expected…he was way too supportive but mom on other hand was worried because the girl whom her aama and baba still had to feed by their hands was taking decision to study abroad where the place, people and whole country was differently new to her.

After a while my mother too was okay with my decision. After completing all the procedure now it was the time to leave my home. By the heavy heart I left my country but the good thing was baba came to drop me off to Bangladesh.

Everything was new!! People, lifestyle, culture, language and so on. At first it was a-bit difficult but time went by and I started adapting to all those challenges. Everything was going good…then one day just before my exam that one message which literally changed my whole life was delivered to me. Everything seemed so blurry, hopeless and I didn’t know what to do next. The pillar, support system and my first love my Baba left this world. I had to rush to Nepal and after returning to Bangladesh there were so many mixed feelings and emotions. How will everything work out now? What’s next? and many more questions. As the professional exam was near it was way too difficult for me to concentrate on my studies. I would break down every single day and all those sleepless nights. My roommates were there on every thick and thin days. Unbothered and loving. Which helped me a lot. Teachers were also very helpful. Especially Community Medicine department teachers were so helpful.

And also by my own courage and dedication I did pretty well on 2nd professional exam. As I am stepping onto the 4th year, I’m trying to give my best and I believe lord will help me in this phase too. Now not only this is the dream of mine but also dream of my Baba.

Being a doctor was never only a profession to me but also a means to make my Baba proud. But now with him gone, it has become the means to keep his memory alive forever with me,not only within my heart but also in my work.

Fulfilling Baba’s dream is now my only quest in life…
